LAMENTATION FOR MY LAND

Let me tell you a little story. I mean the background to this title: Lamentation for my Land. It is a collection of poems that decries the many woes that is torturing my beloved country, Nigeria.


It is no news that Nigeria is blessed with both human and natural resources. The sad news however is that it is a country moaning under the weight of leadership failure. The intrusion of the military and the civil war that followed began the gradual descent of the enviable height Nigeria occupied in those glorious years to its present sorry state.


A lot is wrong with Nigeria. Every sector is grossly affected. Poor infrastructure, education is in shambles, health, you name it. The biggest problem we are battling with now as a federation is corruption. It is a maggot feasting on every sector of the country.

My intention is just to lay a background to what I want to share with you. In two days from now, my debut poetry collection LAMENTATION FOR LAND will be live on Amazon kindle for purchase. I have been on this project for quite sometime and I think this is the right time for it to come to birth. So, to this end, I will be intimating you about it in my subsequent posts.
