FLASH FICTION FILE

  

Things happen in this world, both pleasant and unpleasant. Things the mouth can say and the ones left to the imagination.  It is to this end that I am introducing to the family my newest concept: Flash Fiction File.

Flash fiction file  is a documentation of fictional stories less than one thousand words about everyday happenings and occurrences peculiar to humans. 

                                                                 NNEKA'S NECK

Those who were within hear shot said it was just a minor women banter but what led to Nneka's neck being held by a frightening strand of flesh with a gory sight of unending pool of blood, could not be explained.

All eyes focused on the venerable spectacled  judge who lifted his eye glass for the umpteenth time as though the weight of it was bearing too much on the ridge of his wide hairy nostrils.

' I hereby sentence you to death by hanging'. 

This was followed momentarily by a deathly silence before the import  of the sentence dawned on all the people in the courtroom and the silence was punctured with wails and sighs...

She was carried by two police officers who struggled with her enormous weight to the van waiting outside.

Anger. Uncontrolled anger was her undoing. Her suspicion of Nneka's dalliance with her husband came to  fruition when she found a pregnancy result in her husband's pockets.

She took the battle straight to her enemy's house without further delay. The girl's arrogance and the fact that her slim enviable figure eight was a direct contrast to her own oversized flesh, spurred the anger in her. 

She was too blind to notice that she held a machete with which she put to silence the arrogant Nneka even when the latter begged and pleaded for her life. She realized too late that her suspicion were unfounded. It wasn't Nneka that was pregnant and she was not even having an affair with her husband.
