APPRECIATION.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! That is the new salutation for this new bride making its debut and last to this old wonderful world. Last year, 2020 was a handful. It was for some a year with a bad taste. A sour grape, twice unripe and meant to be drunk to the dregs. We drank all of its bile juices, sourness, tastiness and above all, we survived. Happy new year once again.
This post is meant to have been before now but it is better late than never. I owe all my readers a tremendous appreciation for your continued support given to this blog in the past year. There are many names to be named, many thanks to be offered to faces known and unknown. Those who made their presence known with their names and comments. There are silent readers too all across the world. I may not know your names but you are appreciated nonetheless.
June last year was the birth of this blog. It was an uncertain thrust into the waters of mintings words to paint different worlds. I had doubts but the inner longings to dialogue with different kinds of people override those doubts. This is not to say that I have arrived at the hill of rest where laurels must also rest. It is just the beginning of a very long journey. I have been made to understand that wishing don't ride the horse, taking action does.
If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will agree with me that it is the tottering attempts of a child just learning to walk. Writing is a daunting task. It is like milking a difficult cow. You could be kicked in the face. You will bleed and the pain will hurt so badly. Nevertheless, there is enough room for you and I to be the best that we can be.
I want to thank those who have been interviewed on this blog. You may not know the full extend of what this gesture means to me. It is like being offered a cool milk after a long and tiring walk in the sun. I understand the fact that some of the people I made contact with to be interviewed had a lot on their plates at that time. However, this is a new year. The offer is still open and we can still do something together.
I am trying not to mention names but some names cannot just go without being mentioned. Solape Adeyemi is one of them. She is a friend with a difference! Solape, thank you for the encouragements. You can not be forgotten! Please, my readers, do me the honour to visit her blogspot- lifewithtutu and stay. She's got delicious stories to tell. Another person in this regard is Emmanuel Ilésanmí. Thank you sir for those words of encouragements. I am deeply humbled by them. I can't forget Jenipher from Uganda. She reached out to me with such words that will make one throw in one's weight to what one have started to do. Thank you Jenipher. May all your dreams come true.
I will close this testament of appreciation with everyone that will read this. Thank you, thank and thank you. Happy New Year! I am still Yours Truly,
Julius Topohozin.
