It is a command and at same time a mockery of pompous novo riches who would rather paint the whole town red while their villages beg for recognition of those things that will make life better for the villagers. Here, the wealth of an individual is gauged by how many people wey you carry along, that is, helped and not the flamboyant life they led.
To prove you have arrived, go and make a mark in your village by empowering people who can trace their rise to the good life to you.
It is a criticism of rulers who would rather build expensive mansions with fences for security reasons than help the needy around them.
It is a also a call to all of us to take wisdom in the transient nature of life. Those who were rich and the talk of town yesterday are long dead and forgotten. True riches does not lie in how many houses you built and the number of cars you bought but in the number of lives you touched positively with all the blessings you have received. To leave a remarkable mark in the sands of time is to impart lives positively.
I will put a lid to the story here till another time. Thank you so much for reading. Don't forget to leave your comments behind.
I am still yours truly,
Julius Topohozin.
